Overview

Our long-term client relationship with NASA has led to a need for a Systems Verification and Integration Engineer - Gateway HALO on the Human Space Flight Technical Integration (HSFTIC) contract located at the Northrop Grumman Facility (Gilbert, AZ).

Responsibilities

The Systems Verification and Integration Engineer - Gateway HALO will:

  • Oversee verification, validation, and integration aspects of the Gateway HALO product lifecycle.
  • Utilize understanding of the product life cycle to establish and lead System Engineering and Integration (SE&I) performance initiatives for effective execution of requirements management, test & verification, integration, modeling and analysis, and concept trade studies of Human Space Flight vehicles and programs.
  • Coordinate and Interface with multiple programs across the NASA agency from inception to launch to ensure alignment of all operations, design interfaces and technical integration performance.
  • Apply systems engineering principles and techniques to establish SE&I initiatives for requirements validation, product development, product integration, requirements verification, system validation, and hardware/software product deployment.
  • Promote the implementation of SE&I activities such as requirements identification, verification and tracking, interface definition and Interface Control Document (ICD) development, working with design organizations and cross-functional teams, supporting development, integration, certification, and verification testing.
  • Incorporate process improvement initiatives that promote the progression of SE&I expertise within a more digitized SE&I environment which incorporates data digitization systems (DDS) including product life cycle management (PLM), requirements management (RM), and model-based systems engineering (MBSE) approaches.
  • Establish working relationships with NASA leads, requirement owners, and commercial teammates' key personnel to gain their advocacy in the implementation of innovative data integration solutions for performing more efficient SE&I functions.
  • Provide technical systems knowledge and expertise during major project milestones and project reviews to lead SE&I teams through action resolution.
  • Perform other duties as required.

 

Qualifications

Required Education/Experience/Skills:

  • BS Degree in Engineering from an accredited Engineering school.
  • Applied knowledge of product life cycle development, sound systems engineering & integration principles, and strong working knowledge of associated engineering disciplines.
  • Working knowledge of systems engineering practices associated with the definition, design, development, verification, implementation, testing, integration, and validation of complex systems.
  • Experience with innovation or process improvements projects and initiatives.
  • Excellent communication skills (in both written and verbal), integration, coordination and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with customers and stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint).

 

Preferences:

  • Three (3) to five (5) years of systems engineering experience.
  • Knowledge of Human Space Exploration programs (Gateway, ISS, Orion, etc.), visiting vehicles, and modules.
  • Master of Science degree in Systems Engineering (MSSE).
  • Knowledge of data digitization systems (DDS), tools, or initiatives that promote the digitization of the systems engineering & integration discipline.
  • INCOSE Associate System Engineering Professional (ASEP).
  • Working experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) software, JIRA or other similar tools.
  • Working experience with data digitization software (DDS) for systems engineering.
  • Working experience with DOORS requirements management software or other requirements management software.
  • Working experience with Rhapsody, MagicDraw, or other systems modeling software.
  • Working experience with Siemens NX or similar 3D CAD modeling suite.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and successfully complete a U.S. government background investigation.

  • Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others.
  • This position may require some commuting and traveling to other installations as needed.
