Contract Manager

We are looking for an experienced, organized and passionate individual to fill a Contract Manager position in Houston, TX. In this role, you will be responsible for managing all contracting and subcontracting activity at Barrios. This position will report directly to the Procurement Director.

The Contract Manager will:

• Negotiate, implement and administer all government and commercial contracts and supplier subcontracts
• Review, negotiate and execute Non-Disclosure Agreements and Teaming Agreements
• Evaluate supplier proposals for cost, lead times, and quality
• Prepare contract change notices; monitor subcontractor performance
• Development of new business proposals and contract modifications
  requirements, managing contract change and resolving contractual conflicts
• Work closely with government contracts/procurement personnel
• Develop and maintain relationships of trust and honesty with all internal and external customers
  

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:  

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration or similar field
• 10+ years’ experience in a contract and subcontract management, or procurement role
• Experience administrating various contracting types and working knowledge of FAR flow downs
• Proven ability to negotiate terms, conditions, and pricing for contracts and subcontracts
• Accuracy and high attention to detail

PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

• Experience in new business proposal preparation and working through the entire capture team life cycle

Essential Requirements:

• Must be a U.S. Citizen and successfully complete a U.S. government background investigation.

• May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lb.
• Must have sufficient mobility to enter areas of test facilities where necessary.

• Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical.
• Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements when required.
• Must be able to work in a team atmosphere.
• Must put forward a professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation.
• Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others.
• This position may require some commuting and traveling to other installations as needed.
