Our long-term client relationship with Jacobs has led to a need for a SE&I Engineer, Orion Vehicle Integration on the Amentum contract at Johnson Space Center (Houston, TX).

We have an exciting opportunity for a SE&I Engineer  to join the Orion Vehicle Integration team.

Responsibilities

The Orion Vehicle Integration Office is looking for an experienced Systems Engineer and Integrator to assist the VIO in delivering an Orion Capsule for Artemis II. The successful candidate will be someone all-around flight hardware/complex system integration work to fill a wide variety of gaps in support of the Orion Vehicle Integration Office.


The Orion SE&I Engineer responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Verification Closures
  • Process Development, Refinement and Improvement
  • CoFR Board preparation, participation and presentation
  • Experience and NASA-JSC Flight hardware delivery products and processes
  • Product release and maintenance
  • Vehicle Integration and Analysis
  • Delivering feedback, actions needed, tasks to customers and cohorts via written and oral communication

Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

  • Typically requires a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Engineering and may be expected to have a related master’s degree and normally possess 10-15 years of related experience
  • Experience with requirements verification and validation, design trades, risk analysis, and system analysis of space hardware

PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

  • Experience with certification of human spaceflight hardware
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical skills
  • Experience working in a team environment
  • Familiarity with industry standard software tools and programs (SharePoint and Microsoft Office products, etc.)
  • Experience in Model Based System Engineering and general-purpose modeling language
  • Must have excellent communication skills and experience leading and motivating technical teams when necessary
  • Presentation and interface skills are required
  • Must have the ability to successfully interface with client representatives and manage completion of tasks on schedule
    and within budget to the customer's satisfaction for systems engineering applications is preferred
  • Must be well organized, extremely flexible, and capable of juggling multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Experience in space flight systems engineering including the successful delivery of space flight hardware
  • Working knowledge of NASA, JSC, and ISS standard practices and requirements including safety, fault tolerance, and
    unique disciplines
  • Familiarity with NASA/JSC documentation databases and SharePoint sites as well as typical systems engineering
    products
  • Prior experience working with program-level review boards
    ITAR/EAR requirements familiarity
  • Familiarity with systems engineering software tools and programs (Magic Draw, DOORS, or similar)

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and successfully complete a U.S. government background investigation.

  • This position may require some commuting and traveling to other installations as needed.
