Our long-term client relationship with KBR has led to a need for a Orion Software Load Integrator on the Integrated Mission Operations Contract III (IMOC III) contract at Johnson Space Center (Houston, TX).

Responsibilities

CO24 Exploration Software for Crew Operations (ESCO) group is looking for an Orion Software Load Integrator.

 

The Orion Software Load Integrator will:

  • PCD Software Load Testing
    • Participate in creation of PCD Software Load Image Testing Plan Objectives
    • Creation and management of PCD Software Load Testing Procedures and Scripts
    • Capture and document testing results and report into proper reporting mechanisms
  • Lab Management 
    • Support in the setup and/or configuration of hardware/software required to simulate Orion PCD onboard network environment for testing purposes
    • Support in the scheduling and coordination of lab for testing by users and/or set up systems to do so
  • Load Creation / Deployment
    • Creation of actual software load images for PCD
    • Perform loading of PCD Software Loads on devices for internal lab and flight and create procedures to do so
    • Provide support to stakeholders during their deployment of the load in training facilities and create procedures to do so
    • Implement specific PCD Windows management schemes, including local client backup methods, storage space controls, patching and hot fixes
    • Create efficient ways to perform PCD Software Load tasks remotely
  • Documentation
    • Create and maintain documentation for PCD Software Loads including software manifests, build records, automated reports, etc.
    • Review and provide comments for documentation external to team associated to project
    • Participate in the development/review of documents as necessary, including Work Instructions (WIs), general team/internal documents, procedures, etc.
  • Training
    • Must be willing and capable to train additional team members
    • Will support training facilities
  • Testing
    • Will support development and integration testing of Orion PCD Software Loads with Orion Utility
    • Network Lab and Integrated Testing Labs in Denver, Colorado, as well as other testing facilities
  • Support
    • Will work as part of Orion Mission Evaluation Room (MER) to support the resolution of PCD related technical problems, possibly on nights and weekends, during Orion missions to support astronauts and flight controllers
  • Other duties as deemed necessary by the CO24 Group Lead or Orion PCD Software Project Lead
    Support the Orion PCD Software Project Lead in boards, panels, and presentations
  • Meeting support - Participate in meetings as a representative of the ESCO Team
  • This position will require 10% travel

Qualifications

Required Education/Experience/Skills:

  • Education/Experience Required: Bachelor's Degree in IT, Information Systems or other technically related area, plus 3-5 years relevant experience

OR

  • Education/Experience Required: Bachelor's Degree in IT, Information Systems or other technically related area, plus 5 to 10 years relevant experience

OR

 

  • Education/Experience Required: Bachelor's Degree in IT, Information Systems or other technically related area, plus 10+ years relevant experience
  • Practical knowledge of Microsoft Operating System deployment practices, such as Microsoft Deployment Tool
  • Knowledge of load image capture and deployment methods
  • Experience in configuring and using load image configuration management systems
  • Experience in implementing common network practices, including DNS / DHCP
  • Must possess excellent organizational, communication and presentation skills

Preferences:

  • Experience implementing common client IT Security practices
  • Experience creating process documentation
  • Experience creating custom deploy scripts/batch files
  • Must be willing/able to teach/mentor interns or new hires as necessary
  • Must be able to coordinate with customers with a variety of backgrounds, including SMEs, astronauts, management, and developers
  • Must have demonstrated ability to generate valid requirements and Ops Concepts
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision in a dynamic environment
  • Knowledge, flexibility, and creativity to create a Windows client solution in a non-standard environment: no servers, internet access, AD, or group policy
  • Knowledge of Virtual Machines
  • ISS or Orion program experience
  • Experience with Agile Development

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and successfully complete a U.S. government background investigation.

  • Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements when required

  • Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others
  • This position may require some commuting and traveling to other installations as needed
