As NASA’s largest engineering solutions provider working together with NASA at centers across the United States. Our long-term client relationship with NASA has led to a need for a Technical Project Scheduler on the Mission Technical Integration Contract (MTIC) contract at Johnson Space Center (Houston, TX).

Responsibilities

The Technical Project Scheduler will:

  • Support a highly skilled project team directly contributing to the NASA Gateway Program mission of providing a lunar orbiting platform in support of Beyond-Earth-Orbit Human Spaceflight and Lunar Exploration
  • Coordinate with NASA contractor/technical leads and project management personnel to develop an
  • maintain technical schedules
  • Conduct schedule analysis and assessments to ensure schedules are structured properly with complete network logic that are capable of reporting critical path(s)
  • Provide guidance and recommendations on schedule workarounds and recovery plans that enable effective decision making
  • Perform Schedule Risk Assessments (SRA) and provide guidance and recommendations to NASA management
  • Track schedule progress and develop custom reports/metrics
  • Attend key project meetings, reviews, and present schedule status/metrics
  • Conduct cost and schedule integration, ensuring budget and resource requirements for programs/projects are achievable
  • Assess the impacts resulting from changes to project cost, schedule, or technical baselines
  • Perform other duties as required

 

Qualifications

Required Education/Experience/Skills:

  • BS/BA degree from an accredited college or university

                                                                               -OR-

  • BS/BA degree from an accredited college or university, plus five (5) years of applicable experience

                                                                                -OR-

  • BS/BA degree from an accredited college or university, plus five (10) years of applicable experience
  • Excellent communication skills (in both written and verbal) and the ability to interface with various customers
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a team and independently on a dynamic development program
  • Excellent data gathering, attention to detail, analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Must be a self-starter, highly motivated and able to take initiative in completing tasks with minimal management direction
  • Proficient in MS Office and MS Project
  • Advanced MS Excel understanding
  • Ability to understand technical concepts and designs and relate them to schedule inputs and impacts.
  • Ability to create and analyze integrated master schedules (IMS)

 

  Preferences:

  • Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) from an accredited college or university
  • Experience with Tableau, Structured Solutions, Inc. (SSI) Tools, and ASIT
  • Prior experience developing resource loaded schedules
  • PMI-SP Certification or equivalent
  • Schedule analytics experience
  • Experience with very large, complex project schedules
  • Experience working in Human Space Flight programs

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and successfully complete a U.S. government background investigation

  • May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs
  • Must have sufficient mobility to enter areas of test facilities where necessary

  • Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical
  • Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements when required
  • Must be able to work in a team atmosphere
  • Must put forward a professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation
  • Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others
  • This position may require some commuting and traveling to other installations as needed
